Halo 2 to see graphical improvements on the 360?

According to the an Xbox Live agent, Halo 2 does look better through emulation on the 360 than on the original Xbox, and not just because of better cable connections or HD screens.

Rather than requiring a retail re-release, the old game could be enhanced by a better version of the anti-aliasing available for PS1 games on the PS2. Our source also made a quality comparison between that of “playing an nes game (orig xbox), then playing emulated with filters (xb360. no jaggies).”

If MS can pull through with prettier versions of original Xbox titles on the 360, then the whole Xbox backwards-compatible issue might turn out for the best after all (well, at least for the more popular titles that are covered). Whether filters for 8-bit games are a good thing or not, however, is a question for another time.
