Sony Loses Again, Porn Chooses HD DVD.

Blu-Ray is dead in the water, the *ahem* Adult Industry, it seems has decided to go with HD DVD over Blu-Ray because, "HD DVD is easier to produce, cheaper to produce and there are more HD DVD players in homes than there are Blu-ray players, for example in the Xbox 360." For those of you youngin's out there that don't remember the VHS vs Betamax format war, here's a recap of how that war was settled...

Quite famously in the war between Betamax and VHS, the latter won, especially because the adult industry preferred it. If you've been around long enough, you probably remember that the very early home video rental stores were primarily responsible for driving Betamax out of the market. And those stores carried almost exclusively pornographic content.

Even though the porn industry isn't who you necessarily want as your biggest backer, if they help end this damn format war (either way) I'm happy with that. The fact that all these companies couldn't just agree on one unified format is ridiculous in the first place.
